Lyndon C.J. LEWIS

Biography

Lyndon C.J. Lewis is a sitting Member of Parliament for St. Maarten with the Nation, Opportunity, Wealth (NOW) party. He previously served in the Mercelina I Cabinet as Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of Education, Culture, Youth & Sport (ECYS), sworn in on May 3, 2024. In office he focused on strengthening the justice chain—delivering justice workers’ national decrees, clarifying placement and remuneration phases with unions, and reinforcing public safety through added personnel support.

After returning to Parliament, Lewis has emphasized public safety, community access, and accountability—promoting an “open-door” policy for constituents and calling for stronger police visibility and decisive action on crime. His background includes law-enforcement and HR legal experience related to the justice sector, which shapes his hands-on approach to policy and oversight.
