The Parliament of Sint Maarten is the highest legislative body and represents the entire population of Sint Maarten. The main tasks of Parliament are to represent the people of Sint Maarten and their interest (article 44 of the Constitution), to act as co-legislator (article 82 of the Constitution) and to exercise control over government’s policies.
